A visit with Mimi

Friday, November 14, 2014

Mimi came to town for a fabulous extended visit last month!  No matter how long her stay, it never feels long enough!  She came to care for Preston while we took Reese on her first trip to Disney (more on that special 4th birthday celebration soon), and to get beat at too many Cribbage, SkipBo, and Yahtzee games.

We took full advantage of the perfect Fall weather and the beautiful scenery!  We headed to the mountains one day where we explored Cades Cove, wandered around Gatlinburg, and ate pancakes at the famous Pancake Pantry.  We even taught Mimi how to take a selfie!

Pictures don't even begin to capture how fabulous autumn is in East Tennessee!

After 30-some takes, this was the best one...a picture with these two at the same time is nearly impossible!

With Reese being in PreK now, I feel like we have birthday parties scheduled every other week for all of her new little friends!  We took Mimi along to a couple of them, including a pony party!

We were super excited to take Mimi to lots of Halloween events this year,
including Boo at the Zoo, Voloween (seen below), and trick-or-treating!

Our annual family photo with AJ Johnson, linebacker for the UT Vols.

We also took Mimi to try out a new playground, Fort Kid.  I'm so glad we did as it is definitely a hidden gem in Knoxville!  We can't wait for the warmer days to head back again!

We can't wait for your next visit Mimi!
And to beat you at a few more games!

My week with Preston was so precious and the time with all of you equally so. So many memories! And I am practicing so I don't get beat quite so bad next trip. Love you lots. Grandma/Mimi
