Happy 4 Weeks Reesey!

It's hard to believe Reese is 4 weeks old today!

Reese is doing well.  She is eating about every 4 hours on average and attempting to sleep in between.  We are fighting gas and possibly reflux so she is having some difficulty falling asleep.  Hopefully, we will find the magic trick to fix this or she will grow out of it ASAP as it is quite exhausting and makes us feel terrible she is in pain!  She stays very alert for about 30 minutes after her feedings and she likes to stay awake in between her morning meals.  It amazes me how alert she is, responding to voices and faces, and she has began tracking objects now as well.  Creed and I are doing well, too, just suffering from the usual parenting woes: sleep deprivation, emotional challenges, and slavery to our child.  BUT we couldn't have a better reason to endure these woes!

We checked in with the pediatrician for her one month visit today and she is exactly where she should be on the growth curves.  She's petite so they say, weighing in at 8 pounds 4 ounces and 21 inches long, all falling in the 25th percentile (which she was also born in).  This was great news, considering she is having so much discomfort after eating, but apparently it is not challenging her appetite!  Her doctor prescribed Zantac today to try to help with the pain so we are crossing our fingers.  She also had her first shot outside the hospital.  I'm pretty sure I was more terrified than she!  She turned purple holding her breath for the initial puncture, but as soon as the nurse stopped, Reese stopped crying so she did fabulous!  Thank goodness she stopped crying when she did because if she had not, I think I may have started crying too!

All in all, we are all doing well!
