Honey Do

Thursday, June 10, 2010

Since moving from the geographic south to the true deep south, I have learned that with marriage comes every excuse in the book to have as many gatherings as possible.  Showers are thrown for months in advance of the wedding ceremony for both the bride and groom.  We recently played catch up last weekend when Creed's family and friends threw us our very own Honey Do and an afternoon tea reception.  Honey Do parties are traditionally thrown for the bride and groom to fulfill the groom's needs in order to complete the bride's "honey do" list.  What a great idea!

The Gillis Mills Store is an old store, complete with the original hardwood flooring and decorated with all sorts of old timey decor, in the middle of nowhere that Mr. David has bought and remodeled to have an extra space to hold events of all sorts.

 The Cooks
(Creed's family friend, Creed's preacher, Creed's father Donald, Mr. David)

Creed's childhood group reunited after several years

We had a great southern style BBQ with hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad, baked beans, and homemade ice cream (Creed's favorite!)

Creed even received his very own homemade ice cream maker...in addition to tools, yardwork items, BBQ accessories, step ladder, and the list goes on.

A big thanks to everyone who helped throw such a fabulous Honey Do
and to all of those that shared the night with us!
